Mr. Thrift is an experienced and versatile corporate, transactional, real estate, and franchising attorney.
His experience includes work in the M&A, securities, ’33 and ’34 Act compliance, startups, corporate governance, lending/credit, private equity, venture capital, real estate, professional licensing, and general corporate law arenas.

He is a chairman of the American Bar Association and a member of the State Bar of Georgia Business Law Section, Corporate Counsel Law Section, General Practice and Trial Law Section, Real Property Law Section, as well as the Franchise and Distribution Law Section.
Prior to forming Thrift McLemore, Mr. Thrift worked with publicly and privately held timeshare/fractional real estate companies, served as general counsel of a privately held recreational vehicle dealership group, and was an attorney with the international law firms of McDermott Will & Emery, King & Spalding, and Jones Day. Mr. Thrift has also spent time outside the legal field as a financial analyst with Wachovia Securities (now Wells Fargo Securities).
Mr. Thrift received his JD from Washington & Lee University School of Law and his BA in Business Management from the South Carolina Honors College at the University of South Carolina. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Delta Phi.
