Georgia Supreme Court Issues Statewide Judicial Emergency

The Georgia Supreme Court declared a statewide judicial emergency, suspending non-essential court functions until April 14, 2020, due to COVID-19. Essential functions, which will continue, include things such as criminal hearings, protective orders, and mental health commitment hearings. In addition, deadlines for statutes of limitations and time-sensitive proceedings are also suspended as part of the Court’s Order.
